How to not burn-out from internship?

Hi all,

I'm joining a RE investment firm for an internship (taking a semester off). The hours aren't actually that bad at 45-50 hours. However I'm working another part-time job at ~10 hrs/week. I know that this isn't nearly as much as some of my IB peers but still a bit concerned.

From my last internship I found myself getting pretty burnt-out at like two months in. The work wasn't difficult at all but with the commute to work (around 30 min drive) and my part-time work, I started getting pretty miserable. The hybrid aspect definitely helped a lot and I'm hoping it'll be similar for this role.

This is a role that I'd really like to be successful in since this specific company is known for hiring interns for full-time roles. Do you guys have any tips to maintain my mental/physical health? What did you guys do to prevent burn-out?

So you’re doing school, 40-50 hour internship, and 10 hour part time job?

yeah dog, I’d have to pass on that myself. Drop the 10 hour part time job at a minimum, unless it’s a financial aid related job at your school

Phone it in a bit on the RA job. When I was a freshman my RA was a frat star who did almost nothing. Attend the meetings you have to, but be sure to let them know it's a full time job and you're trying to get a return offer. Don't be on call on weeknights, you have work in the AM. It's not like they'll fire you.

Make sure to give yourself some time to chill at night and on weekends, maintain your social life but don't go out until 2-3AM this semester. Do things you like before or after work.
