HTC One vs Samsung S4

Anyone warring this over i ntheir mind? originally i was going to go for the samsung s4 but to be honest i was a bit underwhelmed with the new stuff.. yeah i guess its cool that it will read your face with scrolling and stuff or pause when i look away but ultimately is it that really big of a deal? i feel like the sense 5.0 ui with blinkfeed and the boomsound/beats audio will be of much more use than waving my hand over the phone and the like.. plus the one is dropping ~3 months earlier and i just got back from brasil...

I'd LOVE to get the waterproof sony xperia z but we cant get it here in the US :(

I switched to the S3 from an iPhone 4S in December and have been really happy.

I was also kinda underwhelmed by the S4, most of the updates seemed software related and a lot of them are apparently going to flow down to the S3 too. Seemed like more of an iPhone 4 to 4S upgrade.

The new HTC One looks awesome though, definitely more competition for the iPhone in the looks department than the S3 or S4 will ever be. That said though, the software HTC uses for Android doesn't seem as good as Samsung's. I think I'd be torn between looks vs phone use experience on the HTC vs S4.

manutdHow can you compare a HTC with a S4? That's like comparing a Honda Civic with a Rolls Royce.
Have you seen the new HTC One? If the Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 had a baby, the HTC One would be it. It's got a sleek aluminum unibody with a 1080p S-LCD3 panel and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 1.7GHz quad-core CPU. Very sexy specs. Check out the review here: http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/12/htc-one-review/

I have the S3 right now, and the S4 doesn't seem like enough of an improvement for me to upgrade to it. Also, I'm not a fan of the polycarbonate case anymore. I like the machined aluminum cases that the iPhone 5 and the HTC One have. The next phone I get will definitely not have a plastic case.

BanditPanditwould like to add nexus 4 to this discussion as well, i'm considering that right now. any opinions?

Haven't had a nexus, but I've played around with them. I don't particularly like them, and they don't have shit on the S4 or One from what I can tell

Just get a fucking iPhone for the status signaling -- that's more important than any impressive technological capabilities Android phones have.

It's all about the Note II. I'll never go back to a regular sized phone again.
