I am addicted

Guys,

I am addicted to shopping (clothes, shoes, bags). I have also been spending a crazy amount of money on superfoods, skin care etc. I was never a big spender but idk what's happened to me in the last few months. My new favorite past time is literally scrolling through the Ann Taylor page or reading up articles on the best Spirulina to buy. PLEASE HELP. Don't want to start a pattern of reckless spending.

Only you can really stop your own addiction, but may I suggest whatever amount you are going to spend, just have a rule to force yourself to invest the same amount of money? E.g. if you're going to buy a $1,000 handbag, make sure you also invest $1,000 in an ETF. That way, at max you're spending half of your excess money and you're investing for the future. At that point, at a 50% savings rate, you'll be fine even if you spend the rest. If you can't afford to buy it twice, you can't afford it.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Honestly, you should just live your life. If you get a dopamine rush from online shopping instead of working out or doing healthy activities outside then you should embrace it as long as you hit your saving/investment goals.
