I am not an American nor do I live in America. I have a question for the majority of the users on this site who are:
What are your thoughts on your tax dollars going to Israel? Do you support Israel's occupation of Palestine? Israel's terrorist acts on Palestine families and children? I don't understand why there are only whispers regarding this topic.

I like the Israelis. They have not provoked my country in to any conflicts, and they have good products and are an open society that doesn't mistreat its weakest members.
Palestine was defeated in military conflicts that it instigate, and it regularly uses deplorable methods to continue its aggression towards Israel - thus, I have no pity for them.

That being said, if I had to choose a side, I would go with the Israelis, as I cannot remember the last time an Israeli terrorist group flew planes into office buildings, or captures palestinians and puts their beheading videos on the internet. Islam sucks more than the jews do.

At the end of the day, the issue boils down to this: Israeli society is much closer to parity with our own. In pretty much every Islamic country, there are those in power and in society that are 100% at odds with the Western social world view. Womens rights, LGBT rights, minority rights, social and economic policies favoring a "middle class", all of those things are openly and often violently rebelled against.
Some things that are likely to happen in Islamic ruled countries that would NOT happen in the US or Israel (or at least wouldn't be condoned):
1) Father sets daughter on fire for having a boyfriend 2) Woman stoned to death because she was raped, thus "cheating" on her husband 3) If you are gay, you will be disowned, and then likely tortured and killed
Recent News: 4) "Emo" kids getting killed in Iraq for the mere "suspicion" that they are gay, based on dressing that way 5) Iranian teenage girl "risks her life" by taping herself singing an Adele song and posting it to youtube
The list could go on, but the point is that there are enough people in Muslim societies that support murderous responses to social issues that we openly support, that there is unlikely to be a meeting of the minds. It's far easier to support a country like Israel where their world view is already very similar to ours. There are hundreds of millions of Muslims in the world that are happy, peaceful individuals and don't feel like they need to impose their social views on others in a violent way. Unfortunately, they are muted by those that have the power and do behave that way.
I'd guess that the majority of Wall St. yuppies could care less about the issue, and just pay the 50% in taxes they have to and move along. That said, I'd say the more Western (Jews) the more support you're gonna see for a group of people. Except the French.
OP, if you want to stick up for Palestine, do so. Realize that you don't have to take something from someone else to make your own case. The US is not uniformly in agreement with Israel at all.
