I Wish I Could Buy Rose Futures...

Maybe you're like me. Every year around this time you sit around and sigh as you fork over a few Benjamins for flowers, chocolates, and dinner. I don't mind the chocolates and dinner, but the flower price increase for this time of the year cracks me up.

I wonder if the price hike comes 100% from florists taking advantage of guys like me who are trapped in the disequilibrium of supply and demand created by this holiday, or if their costs really increase that much.

Well, this year Fox Business answered my questions...

happypantsmcgeeWhy are you spending a few hundred bucks for flowers dude?

I don't think he solely means the flowers that he spent a few hundred on....At least I hope not...

Celebrate Val day near, but not on Feb 14th. Open tables, cheap roses, life is simple. Just because the calendar says XYZ doesn't mean you need to do anything on that day.

Yea, true except for Halloween. Trick or treating any other day is a great way to get arrested...or committed to an institution.

I don't know what woman you're with... but she sounds extremely reasonable. I would either (1) cherish her or (2) be extremely suspicious

I go with "(2) be extremely suspicious"

She works in NYC, I am in Philly. Val is on Tuesday. We are doing is Sat. Makes total sense. Either way, just make it the rule. Any woman who would throw a fit about celebrating Valentines day one or two days off from the "actual" day is a bitch and you need to peace out ASAP.

I wonder why you would be so concerned with ANT's love life...
