I just got this email from [email protected]. I really do hope that this is a rogue member and Patrick really hasn't resorted to spamming university association email lists.

yeah and coca cola needs to stop advertising too for that matter. Do you like using WSO? Has it helped you? You have 100+ posts I would classify you as an active member. You clearly benefit from the increase in user base as that translates into more content and better functions.

I wish he emailed me when I was in college. This website is amazing and I have learned so much (although not yet in this industry)
If it's true, I don't see why this is a big deal at all. It would have been nice to get an e-mail notification like that when I was in college (but then again, this site didn't exist back then). In any case, it sure beats all of those e-mails telling me that for a nominal fee, I can learn how to enhance a certain part of my anatomy or learn how to get Viagra on the cheap...at least with WSO, I'd be getting something I might actually need.
It's dumb to advertise. WSO should just wait for random internet surfers to stumble upon the website. The random surfers would probably be better than a targeted group of people interested in finance and investment banking.
