If you could go hiking/mountain climbing anywhere on earth, where would you go?

So 3 weeks being back here in New York and once again being bitten by the wanderlusty / hiking bug. It's absolutely miserable here. Too many people and not enough serenity.

Planning a 1-2 month trip, exclusively for hiking/mountain climbing/via ferrata/active stuff. Ideally, in a "colder" climate to take advantage of summer's end. (will be doing Patagonia - the W trek - in January, along with Kinabalu in Borneo, so excited :p )

Narrowed down to ~10 countries. Your suggestions would be appreciated. (Nothing in North America please, although Utah is on my list).

Thanks.

I will answer you question, but then will ask a few follow up questions

To answer the question, consider doing the tour du mont blanc (https://www.theguardian.com/travel/gallery/2015/jul/19/walking-tour-du-…). I hear its amazing. Second would be something in Chile or Argentina. Lastly, If you want vastness, consider the famous Kungsleden trail in Sweden (its harsh in the winter.)

My follow up questions are as follows; how do you do the hikes, is it with friends, solo, family? Do you use a trekking company that go in groups? And lastly, how do you manage to get 1-2 months off to travel!, is it because you work in trading?

Best!
