If you could move out of New York City to work remotely, would you do it?

Why/why not?  Assuming no pay cut to normalize for the LCOL area (a la tech firms).

Biggest pro seems to be saving money, biggest con would be it's really difficult to recruit back if you get canned or quit?

Tad curious why you feel it would be harder to re-recruit? How far are you contemplating moving? I would say moving to somewhere with around 2 hours of commute (in case you need to come in for client meetings) would be ideal.

And yeah, I would move. It’s going to happen anyway, especially with senior ish bankers etc. So why not.

Personally, no. I would not relocate out even if I didn’t get a pay cut, I actually want to live in the city. Then again, I’ve never experienced living in nyc, so that could be it and after a few years of experiencing what everyone complains about, I’ll want to move.
