I'm in love with Schweddy Balls

Let me be the first to admit this, NO HOMO, I love Schweddy Balls.

And no, it's not what you are thinking. If you haven't heard already Ben and Jerry's has released test batches of their latest limited edition flavor named to honor the one man who has hosted SNL more times than anyone else, Alec Baldwin. Yes, Alec Baldwin, currently tied for the record, will break the barrier and become the one man who has hosted SNL more times than anyone else with 16 appearances as the host of this pop culture juggernaut. Come September 24, 2011, Baldwin will sit atop that perch alone. Oddly enough, the guy he is tied with right now at 15 hosting stints, Steve Martin, still has the distinction of having the most guest appearances made on SNL.

So, in honor of Baldwin's milestone achievement, Ben and Jerry's has released this batch of ice cream, a nice Fair Trade Vanilla with a hit of rum, Malt Balls and Fudge Covered Rum Balls. It's making a buzz all over the media about what you can learn from this great flavor.

For those of you who don't remember this great skit from SNL's 24th season, I've embedded it below, as well as a clip of Molly Shannon promoting this great flavor.

Make sure to find yourself a Ben and Jerry's scoop shop and enjoy some Schweddy Balls!

You can't have Pete Schweddy, played by Alec Baldwin, without mentioning the fact that the NPR Skit "Delicious Dish" starred Margaret-Jo McCullen, played by the amazing Ana Gastyer, alongside her co-host, Terry Rialto, played by Molly Shannon. IF I tag Baldwin, Ana Gastyer and Molly Shannon need the recognition as well. Without them, this would have never happened and the world wouldn't know about Schweddy's famous balls.
