In the US have you ever dealt with high medical expenses for you or your family?
In the US, I'm constantly amazed by how advanced the healthcare system and medical talent are. But, it is so expensive. Have you ever had to deal with high US Healthcare costs?
Not really. Having good insurance helps.
Not up until recently. My mom is going through chemo treatment and her insurance is not the best. The bills are rolling in pretty frequently. They get medical bills around $700 every couple weeks along with heavy co pays.
It’s not ideal, but the treatment in the United States is the best since it’s not government provided like Europe
Who’s going to tell him
I guess it’s not as bad as others
Yes. Had an emergency in college, went to the closest ER. Cost was $5K for an overnight stay for a simple stomach virus. Because I was under my parent's insurance, somehow they were able to get it down to $2K.
One of my immediate family members is a physician and it was pretty easy to get healthcare because of that. Many physicians will make exceptions / pull favors for friends (and their family) in the profession. Definitely helps to have that luxury. I've never had to wait many months to see a physician / specialist.
