"Incoming intern/analyst" cringe?

So I did a spring week at a BB in London earlier this year. The bank gave return offers for Summer 2019 positions a short time after. Surprisingly many of my fellow interns instantly put a 2019 incoming summer analyst title on their linkedin. What makes it even worse is that it was so early that people having put "Incoming 2018 Summer Analyst" still had their titles left as well.

Why on earth do people do this? Is it a healthy reaction to cringe to this?
