Intern Poaching??

I received a 2020 SA offer from a MM in Chicago end of sept. About a month later, I got an email from a larger MM bank in SF that I have never been in contact with in any way. The email explained that they knew I had an offer, then essentially handed me an offer and asked me to reconsider.

No one I've asked has hear anything like it. So I'm wondering if this happens often with interns/ if anyone has any idea how the SF bank got my information?
