Intra-office Marriage Stories
Seems this site doesn't lack office dating and illicit or approved liaison stories. I was wondering if anyone has witnessed a marriage that came out of work relationships. Many institutions discourage (or even prohibit) intra-office relationships. I am also of the belief that the professional and the personal life should be mutually exclusive. I think that intra-office liasons can have a negative effect on co-workers. That and a productivity drop. On the other hand, what's wrong with two people becoming a so called "power couple" ?
Any stories of office romance that led to marriage (&break-up possibly) ?
I think the reason is most people try to avoid those. Sounds like a good way to convince the HR Gestapo to send a high-heel wearing, soulless-eyed, ex-sorority sister smiling blonde death squad to your desk to walk you out behind the chemical sheds and shoot you in the back of the head.
Anyways, does anyone really want to have sex with some girl after spending 80 hours a week fixing her retarded models?
I would hope to get something out of the deal if I'm spending that much time fixing her models.
Oh you do, you get to drown the memory of her nasally apologies and incomprehensible ineptitude in a sea of alcohol and non work-related vaginas, for those glorious moments in which you manage to escape the office. I can't understand why you'd want to ruin those moments by spending them listening to some girl whine about how much her ridiculous shoes hurt her feet on top of the 80 hour week you spent listening to her whine about her seamless limit.
Associate met his fiance in the office where I SA'd. She left after her analyst years, he stayed on. Couple people from the office were invited to his wedding.
Analyst meets another analyst during training. Moves to his hometown (in a different country). Hooks up with partner during Christmas party. Gets impregnated. Dumps bf. Marries partner. Keeps moving up the food chain (both analyst and partner).
In consulting.
You can't be serious :O And the firm said nothing when an analyst married a PARTNER?
I met my wife during our Analyst years, we were both in the same training class. We worked for different groups though.
One of the Directors on my team met his wife at his previous firm where they both worked when they were both VPs. Now he is a Director at my BB and the wife is an MD at a top tier BB.
Guess it happens.
