Its been a while since I've wanted to start a blog. I even created a Wordpress account and started designing the blog but I got tired of all the spam tips and the fact that I would have to spend time building an audience. Luckily for me I browse WSO all the time and found out that any user could have a blog. Sweet.
The purpose of this blog is simple. Study major socio-economic, geopolitical, and major regional or global events such as natural disasters and test to see if certain opportunities that most people don't see do pay off. I hope I can get a couple of Monkeys interested in working with me on this and hopefully all of us involved become better at analyzing how information affects assets that most people are not looking at while the event is happening/just happened.
The format will be the following: I will post an entry of the event at as blog and my reasoning of what a particular asset could react to it. Monkeys will chime in agreeing or disagreeing and then two weeks later we will revisit and see what happened. Granted there might be times when we are all wrong; the asset moved but not because of the particular event. The purpose is to hone our reasoning as to why it will move towards where we think it will.
My inspiration for this blog has two sources. First I've been wanting to apply my passion of foreign policy and international affairs into the investment management aspect of my job. I'm very noobish at this but with time I think this blog would help a lot. The second comes from the character named Alexander from the book "Liar's Poker" by Michael Lewis. From the Book:

Any advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated. This is my first time blogging too so I ask to be patient as I get a knack of it.
