Introductions
Yep, it's that time again....four years of college has definitely provided us with our fair share of intro practice, from the first floor meeting in the freshman dorm through most courses of our academic careers. I'll start off the thread...
My name is Andrew and I grew up most of my life in New Jersey, with the unfortunate pleasure of attending the same high school as Sammi Sweetheart. Decided to head out to school in the Midwest at Indiana University to get the all-around college experience, social and business school. Throughout my summers, I tried starting a business (failed about 6 months out), interned at a consulting firm (wanted something more finance-related), and finally interned at a BB in their PE group.
Starting in June, I'm heading out to NY to get suited up for a PE analyst role. Until then, I'm gonna enjoy the last days of social life in the big ten, study for the GMATs, and maybe get a road trip in to Cali.
Cheers.
Grew up in the Midwest as well, attended a HS of about 400 people in middle-of-nowhere Ohio. Accepted a full-ride at a no-name school in NE Ohio; quickly realized my mistake once I decided to break into competitive finance.
Ended up being well worth it though as I used my scholarship to study abroad through Semester at Sea my Sophomore year (time of my life). I then started an investment company shortly thereafter, publishing equity reports on a blog (mostly for show).
Ended up landing an internship as a micro-cap equity analyst at a HF last summer which got me into a PE firm near my school in the Fall -- and now I'm headed to NYC the last week of July to start work at a boutique IB.
Spending my last weeks of freedom backpacking Thailand then relaxing at home, ha.
