Is a budget of 2700 too high for a first year analyst?

My base is 110k with a post tax signing bonus of 10k. I've lived in the city for a while but with the support of my parents since I was a student but now I will be paying rent myself. I just want to make sure I don't bite off more than I can chew and be living paycheck to paycheck. I found a few no-fee apartments in the 2500-2800 range and they are close to the office, have laundry, modern fixtures, space, etc. I have about 70k in student loan debt so I was wondering if this is too much to allocate towards rent. I got a bit spoiled because two years ago I lived in a huge, modern FIDI studio for 1700 (covid rent) then I moved to a shoebox in the east village with a roommate. I really miss living in a place I like but I can only find studios in the 2500+ price range. Is this too much given my income?

Yeah your max is $2,750, but finding a studio for $2,500 should be possible but tiny. With that $70K in debt maybe you should live with roommates for a couple years until your base goes up a little more when you can get a nice studio.

I like this one for $1,800 in SoHo with elevator and rooftop. $2,500 move in fee. Fridge looks dated/vinatage so not a lot of cold storage. Kitchen is tiny but to be expected at this price.

This is a great find. The layout is weird, but hell - that's my favorite part about NY apartments. The LES is great! I remember a buddy taking me to 'The Back Room', speakeasy-style pub on Norfolk Street I believe. Good memories.

Yeah I think this is called a "railroad layout." I love LES and East Village. Such art, culture, and restaurants. Super grunge too with everyone tatted which makes it interesting.

East Village is also great. Shoutout to those dispensaries!

Yeah my dream is to have a retail/residential space in the EV. Art Gallery. Champagne parties. Classy and modern.
