Is Bill Ackman Just Insecure?

Ackman is by all means a great investor and probably of the last generation of SM funds that everyone in the industry knows. Why is he so focused on seeking validation through social media? Does he not have friends? I understand that after obtaining money you want influence and power, but why shitpost on twitter when you can just pursue your hobbies and spend time with your kids/family? P.S. this is in response to him feeling vindicated that some Stanford kid used his “may I meet you” line.

I'd like to know his skincare routine. Dude looks great at 59

There are people who look much worse but I do not think he looks young for his age.  He and Keith Urban are about the same age and Urban look very young.  He could be cosmetically enhanced, though.

It's a form of narcissism - people who are successful at one thing start making sweeping generalizations and statements about stuff completely outside of their knowledge scope because they are so used to being treated as the expert in the room that they feel qualified to comment on anything and everything.

I feel like the rub is because they feel like they are an expert, regardless of how dumb their tweet/opinion is, when they inevitably get attacked for being uninformed, they aren't able to engage with the argument or the actual point; your narcissism tells you that it is de facto impossible for you to be wrong, and therefore the people criticizing you must have something wrong with them (communists, terrorists, bitter at society, jealous, etc)

Because being active on social media is incredibly important for success?  The most successful people in their various fields are all supremely untalented at their jobs, but very good at being on social media.  Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian... the list could go on.  You know why they're successful?  Because they are active on social media, and everything else stems from there.

Yes Elon Musk and Donald Trump, the epitome of how to use social media well. It's IMPOSSIBLE to make it without it, except of course for people like Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Emma Stone, Daniel Radcliffe, Scarlett Johansson, Emily Blunt, Mila Kunis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Pattison - let me contact Warren Buffett real quick and make sure he's set up with an X account, he might have trouble without one.

It's not even about the jealousy factor for me, its more about the why the fuck does anyone care. Maybe I am just an emotional odd ball but I always took to heart the phrase we teach kids "sticks and stones my break my bones but words can never hurt me". It's almost like we changed that to "we can't play with sticks and stones so words are now real terrorism".

These people need to all be put into padded asylums.

It’s almost like the success rate of approaching someone with that line (or any line for that matter) I think is somewhat correlated with how well you have your life together.

Educated, employed, and solvent tends to beat online and lonely.

Online and lonely also tends to cluster with poor physical shape, wardrobe, and grooming.

Just my observations so take it with a grain of salt…

He just seems like someone who got made fun of a lot in highschool and now that he has money he's out to prove how cool he is. Twitter hot takes, his massive L on taking Pershing Square public, his laughable pro tennis career, etc.

Oddly enough, one of the things he took his biggest L on was his Herbalife short, which I still don't think he's wrong on. That company, like most MLMs, is a scam.
