Is it possible to get Boat Shoes Re-Soled?

Stupid, question, but probably relevant to the older monkeys out there. I recently wore through the front half of the sole of my current pair of Top Siders. Breaking in a new pair stinks. How possible is it to get them re soled? I rarely use them for sailing if it matters, although I've flipped a catamaran (just don't end up under the sail).

How did you do that, I've had pairs for years, and generally buy a new pair every year/ 2 years.

I don't think you can resole a boat shoe so just get a new pair. It would have something to do with shoes being cork on the bottom and stitched leather to that, but in a boat shoe there is the rubber sole and then that it stitched to the uppers leather directly, with maybe a thin piece of leather, then you have the leather insole so you don't feel the seams.

Just get a good brand and try different brands, i've had some fit me better than others. I think Sperry's are very comfortable.

No, it's a disposable shoe. Five years ago or so, Allen Edmonds used to make a recraftable boat shoe, but they have since outsourced the manufacturing of that shoe to the Dominican Republic, and it is no longer recraftable.

Are you getting the correct size for Top Siders? Mine had absolutely no break in period, and I'm someone who usually has to suffer for a week to get any shoe to break in properly.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
