Is it weird if I make a match.com?

I'm a normal person, like to go out when I can, but I just don't seem to meet girls I like when going to bars. And I don't have time to go do random hobbies and stuff to meet people.

I feel like match.com is probably extremely efficient, but I always felt that online dating was for losers.....so what do you guys think?

Note: I am a complete normal person, that can socialize, etc etc

I've never used online dating sites or anything like it before because, just like you, I thought it was for losers.

I only recently found out, much to my disbelief, that a shit load of people use it. And these people are normal, cool people since they are my friends and even hot girls I have or wanted to hook up with.

Even so, I know it's not for me.

It's WAY more efficient than going to bars. I've used it and so have some of my friends. A lot of the stuff that would take three dates to figure out is sitting right there on the girl's page. Think about all of the money that is wasted on dinner/drinks/etc because you figure out that you and the girl have nothing in common.....it ends up paying for itself

OK, so just to confirm its not weird if I go ahead and sign up now? I would still be mortified if someone I knew found out i used it.

Also, for those who have used it, how often is it females contacting you, versus you trying to make some awkward introduction to them...

It will be you contacting them. The hotter girls on the site are so inundated with messages that they don't even need to bother sending the first message.

Its only weird if you go on to an internet board that has nothing to do with it and start a discussion asking whether or not its weird.

It's not only weird that you went on to an internet board that has nothing to do with dating and started a discussion asking whether or not it's weird to find dates on the Internet. It's also weird that you seek approval from anonymous Internet people about how you get laid (or, more likely, don't get laid).
Agreed.
