Is the teacher in the right

Is the teacher justified in his behavior? Is this the type of teachers they need in the urban community to re instill respect into some of these kids that they they walk on water? Don't make this about race.

If you think about it the main problem facing the urban community today is lack of education...if we change the education culture will it then help to get rid of the nanny state....

Thoughts?

RagnarDanneskjoldNo comment. I've been getting too much monkey shit lately.

haha ok I asked fo it. but please no more shit throwing.

Are you an Elf or something like that? Your name sounds like it.

I would like to say that the teacher is justified, but he definitely takes it too far.

If the kid was being disrespectful and that teacher calls him out and embarasses him thats one thing, but this teacher is just trying to provoke a student into a fight. While the kid probably deserves to get his ass kicked, a t teacher can't be the one doing it (and especially not provoking it)

The sad thing is this teacher is probably one of the few who teach in the ghetto that actually cares (at least I assume he's pissed because he cares and not just that he's a tough guy) and he'll likely get fired for this.

I have the same question as tlynch, wtf is worldstarhiphop?

JamesHetfieldWho runs/owns this website? Jay Z, Dr. Dre or whoever?

50 Cent tried to have it shut down.. but no idea as to who runs it http://bit.ly/uqlyzx..... if still to lazy..idk what to tell you.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

a) Worldstarhiphop is essentially Youtube for black people. It started with just artist videos, then a forum for discussion related to hip-hop culture, then allowed people to upload their own videos and manage channels.

b) The teacher was without a doubt in the right. I grew up with this shit. Stupid fucking clowns who have no desire to improve their quality of life. I got out.

I'm surprised you feel that way. But from you experience, wouldnt you say the right message would be to portray the message that he's not even worth my time? Truth tends to hurt a lot more then a right hook most times.

Hard to believe people on this finance site don't know Ayn Rand characters...

Ehhhhh... I will say he may have took it too far from a professional level, but honestly some of these kids don't respond to logic and reason. The disrespect that SOME of these kids have is absolutely ridiculous, and they oftentimes serve as massive distractions to their peers and the instructor. The kids talk real tough, but when push comes to shove they're really not that hard.

That shouldn't be the teacher's job though, it should've been what the parent was doing a full decade before that point. By the time they get to high-school, it's sadly too late for many of them since that mentality is fully ingrained in them and incredibly difficult to overcome. At that point, however, the burden is on the kid to get their shit together.

That's not something I condone, but I understand it.

Personally, I think the teacher was way out of line and probably would/ought to have lost his job.

Guys like chubs over here, are a dime a dozen in such schools and their MO is to be rebellious, rude, brash, be a tough guy. His jobs is to ignore any incitement, abuse the best he can. I'm not too sure what led up to the altercation but every kid in that school plays the tough guy. I would ignore it because I'm sure he'll get whats coming to him eventually. The job would be too precious to me. But saying that if I wanted to become a teacher, some ghetto school would be the last place on my list. This isnt Dangerous Minds.

The teacher should have given that kid an 'Attitude Adjustment'. That kid will be saying that nobody helped him when he grew up.

Everyone needs a reality check. The sad fact is that most get it from the business end of a handgun or the wrong side of a set of bars. Your chances of surviving either (in the first case -- not dying in violence, from the second -- not getting wrapped up into a permanent life of crime because you have no other way of preserving yourself while incarcerated) are minimal. I know dozens and dozens of kids I wish a teacher slapped around like this. I had friends I wish someone besides me would scream at. Had. They are no longer around.
