Is this a early 20s thing, or do girls phase out of this?

At my school, I've dated a few girls, and while they're nice, many of them seem to be into all of this "save the world, save the whales, save the cockroaches" type of thing. In fact, I learned that one of them was part of Occupy Wall Street. I feel like a lot of them are really smug about the fact that i want to go into investment banking, private equity, or management consulting as a career. Do girls typically become less idealistic after their early 20s?

Depends on the girl. Most do, listen to Eddie

Look at it this way: do you want to date a girl who's a a brutally competetive shark?

you will never fully get women.. you will learn more about them but only bang your head against the wall more as well

Some girls will stay idealistic because its a character trait and part of thier personality, but some of them will become more mature and will (try) to accept other ideas. I guess its not a typical "early 20s" thing, i never were like that but that doesn't mean a thing. Look for girls who aren't that idealistic but have thier own ideas.

This is the third forum posting of this sort (my gf is an OWS type HELP!) and I'm beginning to think they're posted for effect rather than actually wanting advice. It's beginning to seem that finding out your girl was in OWS is the WSO equivalent of finding out your girlfriend was a rap industry groupie.

1) If your girl is in OWS, she's probably not very attractive (or attractive at all). OWS girls are usually hairy, dirty, and smell like the upholstery in your sketchy uncle's car. They spent months sleeping in Zuccotti park for christ sakes. I don't know about you but the au naturale femme look isn't for me so that's something to consider going forward with this ho. 2) If, by some miracle, this girl happens to be the Kate Upton of OWS, the NAACP, and the SEIU, then wtf do you care what she thinks? Honestly, why do people care about the opinions of the girls they're sheboinking in their early 20s. Girls believe all kinds of crazy shit, why wouldn't that extend to politics? Just enjoy what you like about the relationship and ignore all the batty political views she holds. People get married to people that are of the opposite side of the spectrum of them; you can date somebody who was part of a student movement (and is supposedly a 12/10).

"Yes. Money has been a little bit tight lately, but at the end of my life, when I'm sitting on my yacht, am I gonna be thinking about how much money I have? No. I'm gonna be thinking about how many friends I have and my children and my comedy albums."

This post was especially refreshing.

LOOOOOOL

My girl in her early 20s doesn't care about the cockroaches. She screams at me to kill them. I think you need to meet other girls and hang out in different crowds.
