It's All About the Stakes

We have a lot of Fantasy Football fans on WSO and it has been an exciting season so far. But what is it that makes a FF league memorable? It isn't the money; I'm in a fairly high-dollar money league and it's cool, but it doesn't get guys as fired up as a truly horrendous consequence for the loser. Matthew Berry covers this concept in Fantasy Life: The Outrageous, Uplifting, and Heartbreaking World of Fantasy Sports from the Guy Who's Lived It, and in that book he talks about the Tattoo League. Well, ESPN made a video about these knuckleheads, and it is as epic as you'd expect it to be. #YOLO SWAG is by far the most ridiculous FF punishment I've ever heard of. So let's hear it. Would you ever agree to a tattoo? And what's the punishment for losing your league? I'm the commish in my money league this year, and I'm looking for suggestions on how to make the Sacko utterly horrid.

The loser in our league has to take the SAT and post his scores on Facebook. We're pushing 30 now, and imagine having to go to bed early to wake up and get in line alongside a bunch 17 year olds for a test that has absolutely no bearing on your future.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."

This is great punishment.

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

I went to high school with the last guy - Adam Palmer. Haven't talked to or seen him in 6 years - this is absolutely ridiculous.

And so it goes

That is nuts. I don't think I trust any of my friends for this kind of punishment. "Why do you have a tattoo of Oprah saying Losing is one of my favorite things?"

PE is the new black.
