Joakim Noah to sign with Knicks?

Apparently all rumors are pointing to Joakim Noah joining the New York Knicks as a free agent. Article here: http://clutchpoints.com/breaking-joakim-noah-expe…

Looks like New York is putting together a decent team ...

To pay this man $18 mil a year is pretty crazy. It's no secret that Tom Thibodeau ran both Noah and Rose into the ground when he was still the coach of the Bulls. That was a large reason why the Bulls front office got rid of him -- he rode his starters so hard they started to break down (Rose, Noah, Luol Deng, even Jimmy Butler started to show signs of it last season...D-Rose actually played in more games last season than Butler did).

I wouldn't say he broke down Rose, but agree about the others. Taj has battled injuries too. I agree though not sure what the Knicks are doing.

It almost looks like the Knicks are just trying to put together the best crew they can get to make a run at the title next season. May actually make sense time window wise. However, I don't think that Noah is the answer for that. Unless they get one of the big name free agents, I think they'll make the playoffs, maybe get past the first round but then be done fairly quickly.

As a Knicks fan, I like these recent pickups. There is tremendous upside potential with the acquired talent (keyword), and the only downside is potential injuries. Repeat: both Noah and Rose are in the upper tiers of nba TALENT; a 31 y/o Noah and 27 y/o Rose will still be bringing it on a nightly basis as their skills have not diminished due to age. The only caveat and downside is injury and if they are able to hit the floor on a night-in-night-out basis.

Personally I think Rose will relish his fresh start in NY, one of the few markets bigger than his hometown. Both him and Noah are intensity-based players and bring the competitive fire -- something NY has lacked for decades. They will inject some much needed intensity into the team, something that ,for all his skills, Carmelo doesn't have. I also like that two key teammates are moving together, making the transition easier for each other. The Rose-Melo-KP-Noah-x SG lineup will actually be worth the price of admission this fall...

That's a good point. I'm just curious to see if Carmelo shows up in shape this year. Last year he looked like he forgot how much time was left until the season started.

By the way: you think they'll put Melo on Shooting Guard?
