Jobs for US Military Academy grad looking to lead early

Hi all, I am a former military officer now working in finance. I am making good money, but I hate it, simply because I have realized I thrive off leading people. I hate being a well paid minion with no team of my own. Ideally I'd work in manufacturing, but it would be too late for me now plus I would take a massive paycut. I mgiht still end up doing it.

My question is for my little brother. He was at one of the academies, worked his butt off, but recently got diagnosed with an underlying condition that makes him unfit for military service. He's devastated, so now we're brainstorming to find careers that let you lead a group of men/women early and have great/good career progression.

My father recommends management programs at big manufacturing companies, as those let you take charge of a team early as part of your rotations and have great career upward mobility, very similar to the military. He (my dad) did one of those for a blue-chip company after his military service and it's served him well. Manufacturing also seems to be making a comeback.

Some of the programs we've looked mostly have the following structure and roughly the same salaries as the military until one hits Director: Management training/rotations (2/3 years) - Military equivalent (2LT/1LT) - 55-70k all in Production Manager (3/5 years) - Military equivalent (O-3/captain) 70-100k all in Plant Manager (5/10 years) - Military equivalent (O4/O5/Major/Lt. Colonel) 100 -200k all in Senior Director (this is where most "good/competent" careers end) - military equivalent (O6/Colonel) - this is where total compensation in the civilian world starts being significantly higher than military comp 160-300k all in VP/Exec (for the really excellent/best kiss-assers) - military equivalent(Brigadier General and up) - with bonuses, compensation in the civilian world DWARFS equivalent responsibility in the military 250k+ all in

Are there any other careers out there that could fit that mold (lead people right off the bat, defined career progression) and pay decently outside of the military/manufacturing? Aka about 60/70kish first couple years, 100k by 10 years and about 200k at earnings peak? He's an engineering major, if that helps.

Thank you, stay safe.
