Jordan Sneakers a good investment
At Midnight Nike released Jordan Foamposite Galaxy sneakers, for a retail of $220, and riots broke out at malls and fetching Ebay prices are over a grand and some as high as 70K.
70k bid

I did a quick ebay search and people are paying more than a grand for these sneakers..

I was talking to my friend who is a sneaker head and he told me he bought a pair of Concords in December for $150.00 and was offered $1,500 from someone in his school for a pair today..
Yeah but then there's this: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/os-florida-mall-foo…
They really need to raise the rent in the projects. Some of these people have way too much disposable income. btw small correction, these foamposites are not actually Air jordans.
In Houston we've got our fair share of shoe connoisseurs, but I've not seen anything in the news today regarding shoes.
From December:

Drug money.
Most people on ebay won't honor their bids.
$70k, seriously? ABC news shouldn't report such a stupid story.
I agree, but i do believe people will make anywhere between 100-500 dollar profit, not bad if you ask me..
Ah, the sneakerhead/hypebeast days.
I remember them fondly.
yea that 70k is not at all correct. They will most likely sell for around $800-$1200 is my guess.
That sounds like a good investment, but unfortunately it's not as easy as walking into a store the day of the release and picking up a pair or two. People were camped out for days just to attempt to get a pair. Essentially it's a job camping 24/7 just to make a quick 600.
Now if you are one of the blessed ones lucky enough to pick up a pair online. Then great investment.
You need to bribe people the Footlocker guys to buy a bunch before the store opens. What a bunch of artificial demand crap.
And Ebay sucks. You will get screwed by PayPal so avoid it at all costs.
Totally agree, back in H.S a kid I knew worked at Footlocker would buy a few sneakers for himself and then sell them..
I'm a sneakerhead and I also take part in the buy and resell thing.
Trying to get a pair of those galaxy foamposite was impossible, one of my friend who's a manager at a sneakershop told me since Wednesday people were lined up outside. Once he said that i gave up.
As far as other sneakers go, profit from some sneakers can be insane. Like the OP said about the concord jordans, i was able to get my pair for below retail and sell for 800. If you're into sneakers (like I am), it's not a bad investment at all. Just have to be wise.
