Just got this really specific email from Wells Fargo...?

Edit: Jesus, some of you are obnoxious as hell and hostile for a honest question. I was wondering why they put a specific 24 hr window to the application date, and you get on my back about a humble brag. You complain about how this site is declining and then you go and shit on other people for asking questions.

Sick humble brag

How is this a humble brag? I'm not trying to brag at all, I'm legitimately confused as to why they put in on one SINGLE DAY, and opening for only that 24 hours. How does a generic email they sent to maybe 100+ people at my school with very specific directions for a specific day count as a humble brag? Did you even read the content of the email or did you just post for random internet points?

Looks like someone prepared a form e-mail. They've just cut and paste that into an e-mail to you (and likely many others) and typed in the job ID before hitting send.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

It means you are their most desirable candidate and you should flaunt this email for all your peers to see.

They have very specific directions because Wells Fargo does not put up open job postings for summer analyst positions. Instead, they open up their company website on specific days and send out emails to everyone to apply on that day. This is how they do it for everyone.

I wasn't asking why they sent it to me as if I was the only one who got the email, I was wondering why they are so specific about a single date and single 24 hr window. Thanks for clarifying and answering the question rather than being a jerk.

Happy to help. Best of luck!

@"DukeMonk" A lot of times it is just meant to keep down the job applicant pool, not necessarily preselection, because entry-level job open to the public will easily get north of 500+ resumes in a week.

That makes a great deal of sense. I was under the impression that they would direct something like Target 1 to the 18th, Target 2 to the 19th, us to the 20th, etc. I definitely was very confused by this specific instruction.
