Kayak vs Google Flight - What is your favorite travel search engine and why ?
Hi everyone, I'm really interested in knowing how finance/consulting guys like you plan their travels especially which travel search engine you use and why ? If you could also state your country of residence as I know that certain sites are more popular in certain parts of the world I will start : I'm from France and I use mostly Google Flight because I usually don't know where I would like to go on holidays and I really find helpful the exploration feature
travelocity, priceline, expedia
(US)
Internationally I use travelocity too.
To find flights - skyscanner Hotels - I'd probably say booking.com is my main one
UK
www.delta.com
I've heard raving reviews about ScottsCheapFlights. I'd love to pull the trigger but I need just a little more to push me over the edge.
10/10 for the free version, I have a separate folder just for these and though the sales are 1-2 days, popular destinations usually will have sales every couple weeks. I've used it already for a couple trips and it's been great, the only issue with the less popular destinations is that you have to be sure you want to go somewhere at the drop of a hat and be work out the specific dates for the absolute cheapest flights. Otherwise, would definitely recommend.
Do it, I've booked flights to Bangkok on EVA for $550, just picked up flights to Iceland for $252, and London for $350.
If I had more PTO I would have already purchased more.

I used Google flights as my first screen, just to get a ballpark idea of prices. Then I'll go to individual websites to confirm, or maybe one of the other websites others have mentioned. Normally just stick with Google flights though, aside from looking at southwest flight prices (as they aren't on google flights)
