everyone took it way out of 'control'. Everyone listened to it once, heard all those names, and thought that he was "dissin" all of them. But then if you actually listen to what he says, all he's saying is step up your game. This is a competition. You guys are the best, but I'm going to be better.
make it hard to spot the general by working like a soldier
Yeah I didn't quite get the entire hype either to be honest. However, I think that with this part he rapped himself into the Eminem league.
I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing.

The song sucked. Jay Electronica is not half as good as many people claim he is. Kendrick's part was pretty entertaining, especially because he even made his own bridge leading up to the part and then he just drops 32 bars. As for the Eminem thing: Yeah I agree, that part was good, but he needs to drop an album that has the same quality throughout.

I can't believe this is what passes for buzzworthy verses these days. I miss the golden age of hip-hop back in the 90s (fail on my part for not knowing how to embed):

All good stuff, but there's good stuff out there today as well.

Yeah totally :) then again...why would you allow a feature guest so much freedom?

Big Sean said he did his verse, sent the track to Kendrick and when he heard Kendrick's verse didn't think it was right to go back and change what he originally recorded

I didn't think it was as great as it was hyped up to be when I finally listened to it.
Music is dead, especially "Hip-Hop".
^ this.

I don't know... Eminem used to straight verbally rape people. I really didn't think anything of this song.

Inspectah Deck crushes this beat:
One of the greatest songs made too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKjj4hk0pV4
Eminem kills this one (Jay-Z need not apply):
Another Illmatic feature, but I'm giving the credit to AZ on this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEwSfbE9IXc

I feel bad for Big Sean though, the dude was "slayed" on his on track; reminds me of how Eminem butchered Jay z on Renegade

Really miss the 1990's and 2000's for hip-hop
