Kids harass bus monitor, Internet raises money for her

So I'm sure that most of you have heard about this by now, but in case you haven't: a couple of days ago, a video surfaced of some students mocking a bus monitor, Karen Klein, for no apparent reason. The Internet came to her help and donated over $90,000 to Klein's cause.

I'm not really sure what to attribute this to. I want to say that kids aren't disciplined enough these days. I would never even imagine talking to one of my elders this way. It stands within reason that kids who are allowed to talk back to their parents would pull this sort of crap.

What do you guys think?

I'd like to give people on the Internet the benefit of the doubt. I'd think that it would be pretty hard to fake this sort of thing. Can you imagine it?

Bus monitor: Hey kids, I want you to insult the fuck out of me for fifteen minutes and start filming it partway through. Then, post it to YouTube.

I'm willing to bet that if this sort of thing were faked and people started donating money, the non-recipients would come out and expose the hoax within hours.

Scott IrishMiddle school kids have always been a-holes. I hated that time period. But this still made me cringe. Little sh*theads.

This is absolutely true, but I've never heard of students doing this to a school faculty member before. (I'm sure it's been in the media and I just missed it.)

Something that I'm banking on (and I'm willing to bet that Ms. Klein knows this, which is why she's not suing the kids) is that they're going to feel like absolute shit in a few years for doing this. They won't be able to look themselves in the mirror. You can't put a monetary value on that.

Are you kidding? Fucking kids won't remember it unless someone beats the shit out of them. Kids these days are more self centered than even I am.

Ace Rothstein I'm sure that their parents grounded them for eternity, giving them reason not to forget about doing it.

Pffff.....their parents not parenting is the problem. I would have had my ass beat if I did that, but that's too risky these days so you have little turds like this.

The lady or bus driver couldn't do anything about it. Not even their parents.

Spank = child abuse Verbally castrate = "that mean old man/lady yelled at me unfairly!" ---that'll get mom in a vengeful rage Ignore = escalate the prodding and poking .. those of us familiar with bullying will recognize that silence enables a bully to do or say whatever he wants

So what she does is answer them...which is sad to watch.

There really is no way out of it. Unless the woman can suddenly become a terrific comedian or bodybuilder-big to earn those kids' respect, she will have none.

These kids are little fucks but I dont understand the purpose of raising money for her? Don't get me wrong this was terrible to watch and the parents should punish these pricks but how does money solve any of her emotional problems? A dream holiday is hardly a substitute for the turmoil she has experienced (aside from this incident). Weird response.

This is incredible.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

530k now.

A bit ridiculous. A vacation would have been sufficient.

There are kids dying on that site that need a heart transplant etc. This fat person let's see if she will give back some of the proceeds. Now her "Daughter" is involved, she will prob take that money to go buy herself a new pair of tits or something. The whole thing is starting to be shady..
