LA Roommates

Probably a long shot, but anyone in or at LA and looking for a roommate? I'll be moving early May for a buyside gig and will be new to the city, so figured I'd put myself out there

About me: 23 years old, went to undergrad in the west coast, enjoy watching sports and working out. Love going out, but also happy to stay in and chill. Consider myself neat + clean, but not super fussy.

Looking for a place in West LA (office is in Santa Monica) - Santa Monica, MDR, Culver City, Palms, Sawtelle etc. all fair game; ideally 1-2 roommates max. Feel free to PM if you think there's a fit!

Congrats on the buyside gig. LA will be awesome.

I’m in LA and I’ve had a couple of friends do the co-living thing - bungalow is one brand and others I can’t remember the name of. You can review people’s profiles before you commit to moving in so you get a feel for them. It’s more expensive than renting an apartment with friends but the lease terms are often more flexible.

Everyone I know who tried it liked it as a way to meet people as they settled into the city but ultimately ended up getting their own place afterwards. It can be tiring having roommates move in and out often (each tenant is on their own lease which is tied to the bedroom).

Have also heard sub-leasing through Facebook groups is a good option. Generally though, I don’t think you want to commit to a year lease with strangers from a forum. Maybe if they were friends of friends.

Sub-leasing and co-living give you the option of trying out living with people without the long term commitment.
