Landed an IB gig in South Florida, whats the move lol?

Well title explains it all. I just landed an IB gig in South Florida. I honestly just moved down here a couple months ago with my girlfriend after graduating. No intentions of working down here but I just fell in love with the place. I networked my ass off and now here I am.

I'm kinda curious what people do for fun down here / whats the lifestyle like?

I recently moved to live/work in Fort Lauderdale after working in the northeast for 10+ years. People in the industry are hustling like anywhere else, there are genuinely good people you will meet, as well as scumbags with questionable reputations. Hours/attire/facetime are much more laid back, I wear shorts to work most days unless i have a lunch meeting or something. It's a little more showy (designer belts, sports cars, etc.). Everyone golfs and/or fishes. The biggest difference living down here is the diversity, and I'm not talking about race. It's not uncommon to be 40 years old and single, or to be driving a maserati without a college degree. There are die hard trump country girls and blue-haired spiritual beach babes at the same bar. Everyone does cocaine. It's actually a lot of fun. I'm still in my 30s, not sure I'd want to live here when I settle down, but great place to build your career.

You're gonna have a great time. Those stuffy offices in the NE can suck a fatty, it's much more laid back in SoFlo and your money goes further since there's no life sucking state tax. At least in my experience there seems to be a barely noticeable pay adjustment for the lower COL too. Get yourself a tan and hit Brickell or the Miami Beach bar strip.
