Laptop Suggestion?
Hi, I'm going to go to school in NYC, and I don't have a laptop, I know my needs might be different from others but I would appreciate some suggestions. I will not be working outside of campus for the first year whatsoever and my budget is around ~$3000. I use Windows 10 currently on my own computer and use Excel and some research software. I was recommended getting a M1 MacBook Air because it is very light and has good battery life, but the problem I have with it is the display refresh rate. I was thinking about Lenovo but the X1 Extreme with the good refresh rate starts at nearly $2400 when their Legion Slim starts at $1300 with a much better display.
Hard to say unless you give context to why you need something that high end for school.

Second this. Just switched to Dell XPS and absolutely love it.
If you want Windows, Dell XPS. If you like Mac, just get a MBP 14" pro 120hz almost 4k screen, fantastic keyboard, great performance).
are you able to dualboot into windows with the mbp? this looks nice but i don't know if you are able to boot into windows seamlessly and have windows-only programs work seamlessly because of the m2 chip
I've had some success using Parallels for Windows stuff, haven't tested it heavily though
