Leaving for a biz trip to Seoul in 48 hours. Any tips for free time?

Hi guys,

Leaving soon for a work trip trip to Seoul for a week and should have some free time, given it's only a few management presentations. Anyone visited that has suggestions for food & recreation? I've checked all the usual suspects but nothing looks too interesting. Thanks.

Seoul is really like Tokyo (but more dirty). The main difference is it is much cheaper.

Personally I went into any restaurants that had pictures of food that seemed okay. If you like spicy food, you will enjoy it there.

Lastly, the love hotels there are awesome. just sayin.

it depends on how old you are and what kind of fun you are looking for. first of all, the weather's going to be worse than new york, hot and humid, I mean hotter and more humid. so get ready for that.

Are you looking for fancy restaurants or local food that tastes good, like.. are you okay with street food?

And by recreation, do you mean like tourist places, or some sort of activity, or nightlife-type of fun?

PM me if you have any difficulty deciding what to do.

I just got back in early June. I really liked this restaurant: http://www.yongsusan.co.kr/body/gallery_sc_en.asp

This place was also really good for bulgogi: http://www.samwongarden.com/website/company/e_com_2.asp

As for things to do: Gyeongbokgung palace, Seoul Tower, Screen Golf, Lots of clubs if your into that sort of thing in the Gangnam area.

Shopping: Insadong for arts and crafts, Itaewon for bootleg everything, and Shinsegae Malls if you want to find every luxury brand on earth.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

-Not in research, in IB (hence why I haven't had much time to plan) -In my mid 20s so I'd prefer anything with local culture and can either the laid back or nightlife route -I've been practicing avoiding shit bows>>

Noise Basement seemed like a pretty popular place (club), also I would say you cannot really go to Korea and not sing Karaoke.

If you feel like taking it easy you can always just grab some food and go eat by the Han river.

Dont buy a custom suit in Itaewon, it will most likely be 100% polyester. But there are other places to have one made for around 500-700.

Also, good luck with soju, haha......

One last thing since you want the full cultural experience, you actually can eat dog, however it is either very expensive or very cheap and you have to go out of your way to find it.

Out of curiosity what airline are you flying?

^^And before I come off as extremely racist in that video, I should add I'm also visiting Toyko for a few days haha
