Leopard Attacks Hunter!

This is why I check LiveLeak regularly.

Great video here of an African hunting safari gone wrong. Group of hunters tracking, shooting at, and apparently missing a leopard. Leopard charges and attacks one of the hunters, who happens to look like a broke-ass Kenny Powers. Leopard does some good work before being put down, tagging the guy's stomach and badly breaking his wrist. Worst part of this video is hearing the hunter SCREAM.LIKE.A.BITCH.

I enjoyed this video beyond the obvious schadenfreude aspects. As a hunter myself, it's nice to have an animal attack on record. I think too many people see hunting as a fait accompli, without understanding the preparation, patience, and focus required, or the tedium and danger involved. I didn't grow up hunting, but I've enjoyed it as a pursuit largely because of the inherent difficulty and uncertainty, and the ultimate sense of accomplishment when successful. Not to mention being in the outdoors and harvesting your own meat.

My only hope is that if I'm every unlucky enough to be attacked by an animal I am hunting, I have the presence of mind not to scream like the guy in this video.

manbearpigKilling animals for sport is so damn cool!

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have bought my Rolls if it weren't for the authentic leopard upholstry...

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit!

I've never done it, and I'm on the fence about it ethically. Most animals killed for sport are farmed these days, so it's not a poaching situation. Still, I like to know that I am going to use the animal, not just take it as a prize. There's some great hunting up in Canada. Maybe you should try it!

trazer985So, did they eat it afterwards?

No. As MBP indicated, leopards are hunted only for sport. I grew up near a restaurant that would occasionally serve lion meat, and there are some other restaurants and specialty butchers where you can get exotic meat, but I've never heard of leopard being sold/consumed.
