Let's take the plunge. Shall we?

Most of the times, when people talk about adventure, they refer to a sport or an activity that gives them the thrill and adrenaline rush they crave, or fear. A break from their mundane lives; a perpetual cycle of work, the usual hanging out, family, me-time.

The essence of it all though, lies in what goes on in your brain after the adrenaline surge wears down. For me, outdoors has been the biggest teacher. You needn’t be talking to a lot of wise people or survive a bungee jump despite a faulty rope to learn to respect life. Just go out there, in open space, and you’ll know that your brain, your being, is just a tiny speck in the larger scheme of things and you’ve got a lot of respecting to do to co-exist.

There isn’t a rule of thumb for living life. Maybe one, appreciate risks and take them more often. You’d be surprised at what you find at the other end. There is just so much to learn, to see, to explore, and non of it is happening till you open up, go beyond your bias/fear/apprehension, and welcome all that the world has to offer.

What has been your biggest adventure? When did you take the plunge and for what?

No I won’t ask you if you emerged victorious. Underwater is even cooler.
