Living on Houston Street in NYC

Specifically on west Houston and 3rd ave, southern part of west village. Found a nice 1 bed there. Is it safe? I know is sketchy, but wondering about this part. Is it the “fun” part of west village?

Houston and 6th is great - easy access to both SoHo and the West Village, multiple subway lines, and relatively safe. I probably wouldn’t call it the fun part of the West Village, but it’s easy enough to get there

Tangential, but it’s also only a very small section of Houston that’s sketchy - I wouldn’t want to be east of Ave C, but I think everything west of that is fine

Is it safe? I know East Houston is sketchy

LOL where do these kids come from? Since when is "east houston" sketchy? I'd have a hard time saying anywhere in lower manhattan is sketchy compared to uptown, bk, bx
