Mail in voting? How about voting online?
Countries like Estonia have moved fully into e-government that means being able to vote online in the comfort of your home. Why don't we further evolve our voting system and vote online? Thoughts?

Don't have much faith in the public sector modernizing anything.
Online voting would be way too vulnerable to hacking and other interference. Mail-in paper ballots are the way to go.
I agree. I wish we could put ups or fedex in charge. Last two things I mailed with Usps were literally a week late.
Early vote is pretty easy to do
I feel like the states couldn't handle e-voting. (remember each state handles it's own elections) In person voting is crap in the first place, and frequently inconvenient. Barring intentional sabotage of the USPS, I think that universal mail-in ballots are just easier and more convenient. Let's face it, I can be done in two minutes and drop it off on my way to work instead of driving somewhere, trying to find parking and spending 20+ minutes in line.
I love tech but agree, online voting leads to people not trusting the election (no matter which way it swings). Even something as secure as blockchain occasionally has hacks and scams. And quite frankly- a lot of the most successful "hacks" aren't even hacks, it's just getting grandma to give up her information over the phone or email.
Mail in reduces fraud. I actually don't get why you don't get a large time window to cast your vote with a hard deadline. Some states offer this but many don't..
Let's face it, exchange hacks make me twitchy about blockchain as it is. If you have state actors trying to mess with the system I'm ten times more scared, which is why I like mail voting. It is tough to hide foreign addresses for mail.
