Making the move to prop trading

Has any moved from institutional sales trading to prop? If so how did it go? Is anyone familiarwith Broadstreet Trading? I recently interviewed at FNY top quality shop - what others are in the same category?

It's pretty rare unless the sales trader is friends with a performer or partner at one of the prop shops. Problem is institutional sales is mostly sales and execution, taking guys out to dinner, clubs, etc. Not much in terms of directional bets, or the analysis comes from their research guy and they are just taking orders.

FNY I'm hearing is having serious problems and cutting back on risk. They are undergoing some changes from what I hear but dramatically reduced the number of traders.

I'm not familiar with BroadStreet.
