Marine Leaves $160K for Friends to Party

Not sure if this has been posted, but regardless an immense story.

"David Hart, 23, of York was killed last year in Helmand province while on a foot patrol.

He was part of the 40 Commando Royal Marines unit, assigned to fight beside U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton to oust Taliban fighters from their longtime stronghold.

Like many soldiers assigned to a war zone, Hart had taken out a life insurance policy.

After his death, his family found Hart had designated 50,000 British pounds for a charity that helps wounded service personnel -- and 100,000 pounds (about $163,000) for his military and civilian buddies and their girlfriends to go to Las Vegas."

Perhaps his family didn't need the money?

But the friends needed a trip to Las Vegas more? lol

Even though many people do not need gifts and money it makes them feel loved when they do get it.

But you are right I should not be judging, without even knowing their personal circumstances.

VictoriaWoodhullOnly 23 ;/ just a boy.

I don't consider anyone who signs up to take a bullet for their country as a boy/girl/kid. Young is a better description imho

We were just talking about how he looks, not what he did. But if you want to include his actions than we have to call him a men.

But if I were to see such a person at random place say pizza parlor, I will think of him as a kid.

Yeah, it was posted before, but so what? Look at the picture, what a fucking legend. Bet he was a really great guy just to be around, shame that he was struck down so young. The good always die young ...

Damn this forum is retarded sometimes. Respect to the guy, what a badass

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Stop throwing around the term legend. This is pretty cool but its not like shit like this hasn't happened before.

If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses - Henry Ford

I will use the word legend as much as I want, thanks. I use it in daily language, sarcastically, ironically, comically, and appropriately ... all at different times.

Relax, it's a fucking forum.
