I was sold on finance/accounting from the start and so I have a great understanding of the entry level opps/career progression of these fields, but wanted to learn more about the exit opps for kids who graduate with a marketing degree. To be honest I don't know of a single marketing major going into marketing (it's decent for law school, med school, PWM, etc) at places like Nike, Gatorade, espn etc where they seem to hire a lot of MBAs. If I wanted to double major in marketing any ideas what career paths I might be able to get into other than Starbucks barista?

Majored in Marketing, now I want to work in Finance... (Originally Posted: 01/23/2013)
I (stupidly) majored in marketing from a small, Jesuit school in Philadelphia (Saint Joseph's University). I graduated in 2010 and have been in the marketing industry ever since.
All I am looking for is an entry/junior level position within back/middle office operations (trade reconciliation, portfolio administrator, client services, etc.) to get a foot in the door.
I've tried everything, LinkedIn to find references, applying everywhere, even starting to look into staffing agencies. Any advice out there? I'm not in a position to quit and just take an unpaid internship so I feel like my hands are tied.
