Maybe I didn't think enough on this subject...

Hello. Recently I thought I was making the right decision by changing my major from pre-finance to a BS in psychology with a pre-med course load. I did this because I felt that my dreams of investment banking and high finance in general were unrealistic and would cause me much stress in the future. I start school in august and I have no clue what I'm doing, I thought I wanted to go to medical school and get into psychiatry but now I'm having second thoughts about it all in general. This is making me anxious and I can hardly enjoy my free time because of this vexing problem. What should I do?

OP, I think you need to cool it and really think about what you want to do before you start taking any more classes which won't apply to a future career. Don't waste your time, energy, or money taking classes for a major that you don't like or don't see yourself using. You should consider choosing a major that will demonstrate some level of technical competency and ability to learn scientific or technical information. Not only will a technical major allow you to go into either finance or medicine, but it will be more marketable if you choose neither of those career paths.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about causing yourself "much stress in the future." Any desirable, competitive job will be stressful at times, but, as you get older and more experienced, you'll learn to deal with that stress and mitigate any side effects. In the end, you'll feel much better about having overcome those stressors than you would feel if you had tried to avoid them. You'll feel great when you achieve something you thought was too stressful.

What's that bullshit cliche? "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take?"

"Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back."

Wtf is pre finance?

Exactly what I thought immediately.

When a plumber from Hoboken tells you he has a good feeling about a reverse iron condor spread on the Japanese Yen, you really have no choice. If you don’t do it to him, somebody else surely will. -Eddie B.

Wtf is pre finance?

Prolly means pre-business. Some schools have it, it just shows your interest in joining their business program and makes sure you get all the prereqs done.

That's the gayest shit ever, almost akin to having prerequisite to losing your virginity.

Isn't being a virgin a prerequisite to losing your virginity?

Its a fundamental base, a prereq would be more like you have to take her to an expensive dinner, then leave a trail of rose petals to the bedroom that is lit with numerous candles.
