MBA vs Masters in Statistics for Hedge Fund?
I already work at a BB as a trader. I want to take a bit of a break from working and do a degree: either a MBA or Masters in Statistics. My long term goal is to be a hedge fund manager or quantitative researcher (if i end up liking stats and do a PhD).
I want to keep my options open and so am leaning more toward a MBA. However, i feel like stats will give me more technical skills which can be useful (in case i go for something quanty or to a stat arb hedge fund).
I also get the impression that an MBA is really for people looking to switch industries and so maybe not entirely appropriate for someone like me who wants to stay in finance.
