Medical Marijuana Recommendation

Hi everyone, with me being bored in quarantine and still being less than 21, I was wondering if there was any downside to getting a medical recommendation from a weed doctor. Does this show up on background checks, is there anything to worry about? Obviously testing is something I should take note of, but does anyone else had bad experiences? PS this is a recommendation and not a state issued med card.

It won't show up on a background check. Companies won't be asking for your medical records, which I'm not even sure if their allowed to do anyway unless you're working in a specific (non-finance) industry.

As for bg checks, your med card will not get you out of being tested for weed. It won't get you out of trouble if you fail the test either. If you get a drug test that catches you off guard, then buy Quick Fix.

As a medical marijuana card holder, my doctor says will not show up on the vast majority of background checks (said he couldn’t comment on top secret, government style checks; assumed it would come up there). Last 2 years I passed my background check with a card. I’m reasonably sure it’s protected by HIPPA. That being said, stay off the weed for a few months if you are getting tested. Pot is not a good reason to throw away a good job.
