Merry Christmas from Southie!

Since there won't be a Bonus Bananas with a Video of the Week before Christmas, I thought I'd share a little Christmas cheer with you monkeys today, South Boston-style. This lovely holiday ditty from the Dropkick Murphys celebrates all that is ugly and dysfunctional in a true Irish Christmas. Reminds me of the Braverman Family Circus growing up. God, I love whiskey. Anyway, here's hoping this gets you in the holiday spirit. Take it away, boys:

Here's a few of my favorites from Irish xmas:

  • people forgetting kids' names because there are just too many of them
  • men wearing v-neck sweaters over button downs in an attempt to cover their rex ryan esque physique
  • people getting gifts for others that make no sense as if they have never met them
  • people going to the "dark side" after dinner when their drinks really settle in, usually the women lead the charge

I have a feeling this post will not be a familiar experience for many people on this board

Seems like there is more "Irish" (adjective) in America than in Ireland. I mean not just people of Irish descent, but Irish culture.

Gotta visit this rocky land someday though, Boston is not enough. Saw Ireland from a Transatlantic flight, and damn that country looks like it is full of rocks from up there. Fascinating culture for a foreigner to experience.
