Mistreated by the manager of a restaurant. What would you do?

So yesterday I and 2 of my friends (college students) went to this restaurant to have dinner. It was our first time going to that restaurant and the restaurant was a little bit fancy. When we went in, the manager gave us a look and ignored us. We told him that we had 3 people but he only responded 'I've got nothing for you.' We looked around. There were plenty of empty tables. So we waited. After a while, he finally put us to a table the size of which fits one person only. However, we took it anyways. After we ate (food wasn't good), we asked for the bill only to find out that they charged us for something that we didn't order. They changed the bill without saying sorry. We then waited for them to pick up our credit cards for 5 minutes but nobody showed up. A friend of mine put a $100 bill on the table and we left. (when we left the big empty tables were still empty. could've put us there)
Bad service, bad attitude, unfair treatment and deception.
WHY? because we're students? we didn't dress particularly nice but it wasn't like everyone there was wearing a suit.
What should I have done and what would you do?
You acted like unassertive pussies. As for what you can do now, don't go back and leave a bad Yelp review if you really care that much.
Yah, simply write a review on yelp.
Yeah, I would not have eaten there if they didn't welcome you. There is a good chance your food contained spit. Not sure why they were being asses to you all, but def write bad reviews on a few major foods review sites.
Asshole manager doesn't mean asshole kitchen staff.
Also, them shitting on college kids might elevate their Yelp preftig status.
Well, the kitchen staff doesn't deliver the food directly to you, there is a middle man, and they can easily do something to your food if they want.
Also, don't write the review as a college student. Just say you and some colleagues (or a client haha) went to have dinner......
Go above his head. Assuming you at least got his first name, call/write the restaurant owner or whoever his boss would be and complain. It's never too late to go back to the restaurant either and that can be even more effective. I ordered take out from a decent restaurant about a week ago - the chick that got my food was rude then I realized they screwed up the order when I got home. I went back, told her to get her manager, then told him everything. Ended up getting a personal apology and a bunch of free food. Don't take shit from some tool that works at a restaurant.
What's the name of the restaurant? I'd like to know so I don't wind up going myself.
Was it in the US? As it has already been said you acted like pussies. You should have left this shitty restaurant as soon as he treated you that way.
I will never understand those people being mad everytime , I just broke up with my gf 2 days ago after a 3 years relationship and I still keep my hapiness and even more if I would have clients to take care of.

Why you would willingly give them your business when they treat you like that is the real question. Maybe the first time when he didn't give you any attention was a mistake but then the seating? Walk out and don't go back.
