Most Prestigious Cologne?
I am a newly minted associate at a PE MF (very prestigious) and I am eager to start contributing valuable ideas and thoughts to my team that I’m sure they will appreciate. To that end, I wanted to reach out to the users of WSO, and ask them firsthand what is the most prestigious cologne is in banking? I already live in a prestigious neighborhood, have a prestigious job, went to a prestigious school, have a prestigious girlfriend, eat prestigious food, do the most prestigious exercises, read the most prestigious books, watch the most prestigious shows, take the most prestigious shits, sleep in the most prestigious bed, have prestigious parents, have a prestigious dog breed, wear prestigious cloths, do prestigious drugs, drink prestigious alcohol, drive a prestigious car, listen to prestigious music, hang out with prestigious friends, drink prestigious electrolyte drinks so I sweat out prestige, and wank with prestigious lotion. I am in need of a good, prestigious cologne before I start my new job and I am nervous that my colleagues won’t know that I am prestigious. Does anyone have information on a cologne prestige list? Thanks

If you really went to a prestigious school you would know the answer to this. It is one of the first things they teach.
Your MD's ballhairs
My musky nuts across your face.
Grab your nuts and instead of smelling you hand, wipe it on your face. Men recognize the scent and you will get instant respect.
The one in Germany
The one that smells like David Solomon’s colon
Axe
.
^ As above said, probably anything Creed related...
Was literally going to comment this
In terms of prestige, we would have to be talking about Le Goldemen TMT eau de parfum and P(Zhe)T RX eau de toilette. Top groups according to the official smell league tables and have the best exit options into private equity colognes. Although I heard its mainly for people who had target college colognes.
*incoming IB analysts scrambling to take notes
Creed Vetiver for work
Brut or old spice classic
Abercrombie Fierce. Once I started wearing it, I never had to worry about bringing in business and deal flow.
YSL for the women. Especially for the one analyst who is going trans to secure a spot
Dior sauvage
No doubt. Chanel Bleu as well.
Smells good, but way too overused. Not a unique scent
Creed (I personally prefer Green Irish Tweed, but Aventus is the Most Popular one). Tom Ford has some pretty solid ones too, such as Tobacco Vanille and Fcking Fabulous (if you're confident).
If you want smell-wise, Spicebomb by Viktor&Rolf is solid for winter, as well as By The Fireplace by Maison Margiela.
Creed Millesime Imperial hits wildly different
I am a Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous guy myself. Great choice
Since you’re into prestige, glamor and illusion (or disillusion in your case) try Halfeti by Penhaligon’s or Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. I won’t mention the $1000/bottle ones I like, as prestigious as you deem yourself, those are only fit for royalty (which you’re not, sorry!)
Everything from di Parma, what kind of question is that?
Sex Panther.
this is a great cologne. Works 60% of the time, every time
Like I said, you guys are running out of shit to talk about
Gasoline smell
Not Creed Aventus. Maybe 5 years ago, but ever since it became famous it has become the BMW of perfumes: more guys wearing it to pretend they are someone that ppl who actually appreciate it for what it is. Besides, don’t wear it if you are younger than 40, it smells like an old guy and you’ll look like a try hard.
Get something like Prada L’Homme (Amber pour Homme may work if you aren’t in Europe), Terre d’Hermes if you prefer stronger scents (most Hermes fragances will work btw) or if you want something less comercial parfums de merly ( I like sedley). Tom Ford is obviously great if you don’t mind the splurge (I really like neroli portofino and soleil blanc).
One last thing, NEVER blind buy a perfume. You can’t return it and you’ll never use it. Buy a sample first if you can’t smell it in a store near you.
Parfums De Marly and Tom Ford make some of the best fragrances imo. Creed's quality has drastically gone downhill but still charge the highest prices.
Agreed. Ever since every 30 yr old self proclaimed “entrepeneurs” started hyping Aventus, Creed has been riding that wave and their quality has tanked.
As for the other part I personally prefer Tom Ford. Parfums de Marly is great, but I am not a big fan of oriental fragances which is what they excel at. This being said, it is still a magnificent brand everyone should try
I love Tom Ford cologne, but from my experience men are more attracted to the smell than women. My favourite from them is Noir de Noir, but my girlfriend hates the smell so much she insisted I stop using it. Other girls have also told me they didn't love it. Hilariously, all my friends who are guys love the smell. Would be interesting to hear if this was the case for others.
Dior Sauvage is my favourite at the moment because women seem to love it.
Gucci Pour Homme II....remember me.
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille or Oud Wood are GOAT
fuck you
I like the smell of burned rubber. Carry a lighter and cut outs from a tire in my pocket. Use it is an incense.
.
scents are personal and how the smell settles on someone's skin is unique to each person...would definitely recommend you check some out in-person before purchasing
Creed (Aventus is the most popular), Byredo, Le Labo, Maison Francis Kurdijan
Not my line of specialty, but I like Bulgari Soir and the very first one of/eponymous Ermenegildo Zegna
50% of the time it works every time
Dior sewage
Take a leaf out of Lou Pai's book...
Pai was one of Skilling's top lieutenants at Enron, tasked with turning Enron into a de facto commodity trading firm. While reclusive around the office, Pai had a massive penchant for strippers, regularly holding meetings at strip clubs and - despite being married - actually getting a stripper pregnant. The story goes that one of Pai's subordinates asked him how he avoided rousing his wife's suspicions despite regularly coming home stinking of strippers' perfume. His replied by say that, after leaving the strip club, he used to go to the gas station to fill up his car, and while doing so would spill a little gasoline on himself - killed the scent, dead.
So there you go: you want the most prestigious aftershave? Splash a little gasoline on yourself. People will know you mean business.
Zoologist T-Rex if you want to smell like burning flesh, charcoal burning and gunpowder to exude dominance.
I like Burberry.
Go the Jo Malone route, especially their "intense" scents in the black bottles.
Do you live in the American Gardens building on West 81st street?
Yes
Have you been to Dorsia? Great sea-urchin ceviche.
Preferred Stock
you guys are noobs when it comes to scents, its almost as if you take your smell advice from a mens health magazine.
I'd give you all a tip but I dont want to waste it on smell noobs.
Ikr
Wet Vagene.
Do straight men still wear cologne? Srs.
Parfums de Marly Herod
