Most prestigious house?

Would restoring a British castle/keep or buying one of the remaining Roman imperial villas along the Mediterranean and living in it be more prestigious?

The villa would be way more expensive (there's only like 3 intact imperial villas), but I'm not looking for prestige per dollar, but rather overall prestige.

Most English castles are not prestigious - most of them were doled out to rando soldiers, and are being sold off because their families became so broke from sitting on their asses for 300 years that they can no longer afford the maintenance. Plus what's the point of a castle if you don't have any plebians to look down at as you enter the gates on horseback? It's pretty much just a big stone building gathering dust and freezing over 11/12 months of the year.

Now in a Roman villa on the Mediterranean - you're living large like the Roman generals, not some English bootlicker. Great girls (pretty sure they shoot porn in most of these villas), wine and grapes, and get tanned all year round. Why would you give that up to live in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychnorthwestlancashire-upon-severn?

I think NYC and LA have the most prestigious houses.

Prestige is dumb but this is just dead wrong. NYC rich people think 1300sqft is a lot, ride the L, and breathe garbage air while calling themselves wealthy. That's not wealthy. And California needs to break off at the fault already.

NYC and LA have the most badass homes in the $20mm - $150mm category.
