Moving to Dallas (IB Associate)

Hi all,

I'm moving to Dallas at the end of September for a new job (I realize it's a tight timeline, but things came together at the last minute). I'm a younger (25 male) investment banker looking for a "luxury" apartment in the following neighborhoods (Uptown / Oak Lawn / Turtle Creek / Victory Park).

I am not too interested in living in the further suburbs. I'd like a more urban feel, so I am leaning towards high-rise apartments. Ideally, I want something that feels walkable, safe, and clean.

I am interested in either a [2bed + 2bath] or [1bed + 1bath + Study] with a soft upper limit of $4,500 a month (including parking). My office is a bit uniquely located closer to the Dallas Love Field Airport, hence the interest in Turtle Creek and Oak Lawn. Ideally I would like to live in a building with a decent amenities like a gym, and am trying for a minimum unit size of 1000 sqft (though closer to 1300 sqft is ideal).

So far, the places I've looked at and are planning to tour (next week) are:

  • Glass House by Windsor (A little concerned by this building's Google reviews)
  • The Victor
  • Novel Turtle Creek
  • The Brady
  • Rienzi at Turtle Creek
  • Cantabria
  • Hanover Turtle Creek
  • The Katy
  • The Taylor

Some places that I looked at but seem out of budget for what I want are:

  • Aster
  • McKenzie
  • Selene

It would be great to hear any feedback on the above or any recommendations of other buildings I should look at! Any insight or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!
