MTV has a message for "white guys"

Well if you were wondering what sort of idiots ruined a great brand, here they are in a video:

I could say lecture about inclusion but instead I'm just going to say if you're "triggered" by this just go to your safe space and don't bother writing a reply as I am currently trying to find a window to jump out of.... I just can't figure if the people running the show over there really are this stupid or if this is some sort of strategy to appeal to stupidity by alienating the same demographic that brought MTV the cash flow in the past.

MTV is going down the shitter. With moves this desperate will Viacom write down MTV?

MTV was the shit back in the day. Music videos before school, music videos after school. It's not just MTV though. It's pretty much all TV anymore. There is something about our demographic/generations that is enticing them to switch content - if they didn't see a rise in viewership, don't you think they'd go back? Remember when History Channel actually aired history programs? Even on the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, you're going to get maybe 2 hours of Pearl Harbor shows before they switch back to their regular bullshit of Pawn Stars, Ice Road Truckers (Argh!) and American Pickers, etc. Remember Pop Up Video on VH1? Wtf is VH1 doing now?

How about the time when Animal Planet actually showed animals? I remember just watching those documentaries where you would see animals in the wild and a British accent would tell you everything.

I think the best example of this is the History channel, it's now the AHC channel and if you look at their programming line up you would assume that AHC doesn't stand for what they say it does.

It isn't about rise in viewership it is about ROI. You can loose viewership and still see an increase in ROI considering that these shit reality shows cost about a third of what their old content cost to produce.

He isn't a Liberal, he is a classical liberal. The difference between the two today is about as different as the Middle East is from Europe Which is what you are, classical liberals are basically people who are for as much freedom as possible in a society.

Don't forget Jersey Shore, every "white guy" I knew watched it even though they might not admit to that now. Teen Mom for the girls.

Overwhelming grasp of the obvious.

This didn't ruin the brand, if anything this strengthened the brand with the idiots who believe this shit. The brand died over a decade ago, I don't know anyone who watches mtv at all unless they are forced to because clips used from the network are used in youtube videos by people who talk shit about the idiots who are in the mtv videos.

White people, in general, don't think of themselves as an interest group. We don't see the world through the prism of race. We see the world through the prism of ideology, class, religion, secularism, etc., demonstrated in the fact that whites do not vote monolithically for one party (unlike, say, the black community, which is nothing less than a pawn of the Democratic party).

Of course they don't. That's because the problems that white people face are not determined by the fact that they are white. They are determined by the factors you mentioned such as class, religion, etc. People who are not white, however, face an array of problems that are a direct result of their race. The experiences of white people in this country are far more diverse and less consistent than other groups of people.

It's also quite untrue that white people (or anyone for that matter) don't see the world through the prism of race. Implicitly, we all do. I invite anyone interested to take this implicit bias test created by Harvard.

"Virginia Tech 4ever"We don't see the world through the prism of race ... (unlike, say, the black community, which is nothing less than a pawn of the Democratic party).

I can't work out whether this juxtaposition was deliberate or not.

Anyway, I lean heavily left of social issues, but see this video as another example of the tedious, lecturing portion of Left unloading shotgun shell after shotgun shell into its own feet.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

When did this place turn into breitbartoasis.com? Glad I don't come around much anymore.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."

Anger and outrage directed at others is the opiate of the 21st century, for all sides of politics.

You don't need to read breitbart to recognize the double standard epitomized in this video... Maybe just a sliver of common sense

Overwhelming grasp of the obvious.

My cable provider could remove my MTV channel and it is safe to say it would never be noticed, ever.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
