My LinkedIn Bio - Thoughts?

Been thinking for a while to add a original LinkedIn bio that really captures who I am and avoiding your typical bio about interests in finance blah blah boring.

I received the craziest reference letter from a professor recently. It's the type of letter that you would frame (i'm framing it). It's genuine and I still catch up with the professor every few months (I took his class in 2017/my first semester, which says a lot about how highly he thinks of me).

I want to quote a line in his reference letter that sums up who I am. It would look like this: "....." - Professor at University Name

I would do that as well. I just can't emphasize how incredible the letter is... here's the excerpt: (My name) is one of the most memorable students I had in my classes. He owes his success for having a personality that made him even more outstanding. He is ambitious, and no obstacle can stop him from reaching the goal he has set for himself. (My Name) has tremendous energy, and he understands the importance of focusing that energy and a proper time resource to bring any of his projects to successful completion. It was of no surprise that he would produce one of the most mature and original projects I got to come across. The only drawback I experienced with (My Name) was that I only taught him one course.

You would honestly think i paid the teacher to write this... Pumps me up everytime I read it.

I mean, the letter sounds excellent but putting a quote in your bio about yourself reminds me of Tinder 5 years ago, and could be seen as pretentious by people on LinkedIn. Maybe upload a PDF of the whole letter? Just put it there, and don't mention anything.

Good idea. The only problem I have is that the letter is addressed to a specific organization which I would like to leave out

In that case you should maybe reach out to the said Professor and just explain that you'd like to have a "general" recommendation letter from him to put on LinkedIn, he'll understand.

LinkedIn bios are actually a bit overrated imo, especially as prospects. It's not like we have done anything really worth mentioning in our lives anyway, so writing too much about yourself can also be seen as pretentious. I'd say a few lines (2/3) explaining who you are and where you want to go are enough, no need to tell the story of your life.

Great advice appreciate it. I won't do it after all but i'm definitely framing it lol
